The atmosphere is just what we love (good music, low lighting, and aesthetically pleasing hehe) And the location and people are wonderful! “ I am a chef, for over 25 years, all over the world including London, Dubai and NYC. But also I’m from Citta di Castello, my own town where I grew up. And therefore I believe I speak with more authority when it comes to review a restaurant and I can say unequivocally that Alla Vineria is a spectacular place. I have been here twice in the last four days and the range of the dishes is impressive but more impressive is the fact that all of the dishes were excellent and diverse. Pappa al pomodoro, plin in brodo, tomino with truffle, baccalà, galletto, ravioli and contorno and cantucci. A punch above their level. Selection of wine, more than 250 labels and reasonable prices. For example de Sordo Barbaresco was 35 euro. The owner who’s the sommelier for 16 years knows his stuff and waiters were both professional and friendly in equal degrees. “ Happened upon this place by chance, very much a case of serendipity. It’s a delightful restaurant where the chef kindly came out of the kitchen to give us a full run down of all the dishes and how they are made. Such tough decisions when everything sounded so delicious. We all opted for primi and secondi and were so glad we did because we wouldn’t want to have missed out. Every dish was a taste revelation. You can tell that this is a chef who is really passionate about what he does. My roast duck with mashed potato, caramelised apple and mustard was out of this world but my three companions would argue that they each had the best dish. And while the food was exceptionally good, it was matched by the incredible wine selection, the ambience and the very calm and knowledgable owner and chef. We‘ll be back…often! ”
